Most of these districts come under the authority of the London Borough of Camden with some small parts coming under the jurisdiction of the City of Westminster and the London Borough of Islington.

Already a long-established residential area, WC1 has also benefited from a number of new development schemes and regeneration initiatives in recent years, most notably around King’s Cross and St Pancras. As a result, the area’s architecture is comprised of a mix of different property types to suit all tastes. Potential buyers or those looking for rental accommodation will find a good selection of older period properties, smart terraced houses, newly-built WC1 flats and ex-local authority homes.
