This stunning, lateral, authentic loft apartment is located in this prime period building whose history dates back to the mid-1670s.

Cannon Brewery originated with a Brewhouse attached to the Unicorn Inn, which had been in existence since the early 1670s, and was originally known as the Horseshoe which was one of London's largest Breweries.

In the mid-1700s the brewery was acquired by Samuel and Rivers Dickinson whose family were established brewers and maltsters in London and Hertfordshire. Under them the brewery was enlarged, and the Unicorn rebuilt and renamed the St John of Jerusalem.

In the 1930s Cannon Brewery was acquired by the Taylor Walker group and the brewery resumed production after the war, but closed in 1955.

Designed by Bradford's for the Cannon Brewery Company in 1914, and built between 1925, its first occupants in the 1920s were the shop fitters Pollards, who used it for storage, and installed the present shopfronts.

Located on St John Street close to the junction of Clerkenwell Road, the building also houses on the ground floor, one of Clerkenwells most avant garde furniture emporiums with furniture from designers such as Poltrona Frau, Cassina and Cappellini.

Farringdon Underground (Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith and City Lines) and Mainline Station is moments away and soon the area shall benefit from the opening of Crossrail.

The location is perfect for anyone looking for a Central London pied a terre as well as a rental investment. This really is the most wonderful and charming loft apartment.
