Modern classics with a nod to the fashionable loft in the Barbican.
When I first went to this property I was expecting a classic lateral Barbican apartment and to a certain extent, that is what I got; the original galley kitchen, listed windows to the ubiquitous balcony. What I was not expecting was a painted concrete floor in dark grey with mid grey walls. I was not expecting a shower room in the exact style and finish of the public loos in the Barbican Centre not the stylish collection of 1950s furniture. It was as if I had walked into a converted warehouse in neighbouring Clerkenwell rather than this 1960s development.
