The Canal Building is a classic 1930s industrial building and was the original textiles warehouse for the early 20th-century fashion chain ‘C&A’, which was founded by the Dutch brothers Clemens and August Brenninkmeijer in 1841. Architects Child Graddon used their vison to transform the building into 79 live/work and residential units in 1997.
