Located in the East London, in the proximity of the Borough of Tower Hamlets, Wapping district is stretching within the limits of River Thames (north bank) and the old place named The Highway. Being linked nearby the river, opened to Wapping's inhabitants a strong maritime water road. 

Residential area shows terraced houses, buildings converted into residential property, located in quiet area or near the channel, with majestic views.  Well known for its inter war buildings, historically original designed structures were destroyed during the Blitz and continued its decay with the Second World War bombing over London. Sights and Attractions

The water road makes the area highly attractive, among them, Prospect of Whitby and Wapping Stairs being famous. The "Battle of Wapping will remain in the humanity history as the “fight” between Rupert Murdoch and News International printing and publishing company workers. In the Wapping area, in 1986, Murdoch established its future printing factory turning Wapping into a famous area.

The Docklands area is famous due to a rich maritime history, whose evidences are still held in the Thames Police Museum, in the Marine Support Unit files. The remains of the St John's Church (a tower and shell) have been transformed for housing. Among Wapping attractions to visit are picturesque Wapping Old Stairs and Pelican Stairs, old stairs which permit the access to the Thames riverside.

Squares and Gardens

The St George’s Church was one of the Hawksmoor churches built in London, whose ancient walls have been maintained even after the Blitz (in the ‘60s a new church was erected inside its interior walls). In the vicinity there is St George's Gardens, a combination of cemetery and a public park with mid-Victorian influences. The Execution Dock ruins can be seen on the public house nearby old stairs of Prospect of Whitby and Wapping Pier Head.

The Wapping area is reachable via buses 100, D3, N551 or through the London Overground station. Linked to the National Road Network via the Highway A1203, the district of Wapping became one-of-a-kind London districts.

Bishop Challoner Catholic Collegiate School and London West Valley College are 2 of the nearest educational places, which can be reached easily on the bus or by subway. Thanks to its Thames proximity, the Wapping district geographical and historical details were used in various literary and cultural writings.


Hermitage Primary School, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Prior Weston Primary School & Children's Centre or St. Mary & St. Michael Catholic Primary School offers the highest conditions for children.


London Bridge Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, Children & Young People's Centre, Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust or St Clements Hospital are available in cases of emergency.


The entertainment zone is highly exploited thanks to the eclectic and sophisticated eateries, pubs, restaurants and bars. The top class Gastropub “The Narrow” belonging to famous Gordoon Ramsey is a well-priced place to take your dinner. It the area must visit other magnificent restaurants as The Chop House, Le Pont de la Tour or Conran’s. But, a must visit in the zone it is the oldest London’s pubs, erected in 1543, The Prospect of Whitby, where pieces of history are still present.
