Sights and Attractions

The EC4 area of London is a place where history and modern life are closely entwined. Whether you are just passing or living in EC4, there are many things to see and do. St Paul Cathedral sits at the top of Ludgate Hill – London’s highest peak – from whence there are some amazing views of the city. Fleet Street is famous for once being the home of the British Press but is now mostly occupied by legal firms. Temple Church is also a notable piece of London architecture, having recently been restored to its former glory. Blackfriars, now the site of several large financial companies and investment banks, is also an area of interest.

Squares and Gardens

Open space in EC4 includes Cleary Gardens off Queen Victoria Street, Inner Temple Garden (home to a collection of rare trees) and the Riverside Walk. There are also a number of squares dotted around the EC4 area including New St Square, Ludgate Square and Gough Square among others

Well connected

All parts of the EC4 area are well served by buses. Additionally, there are tube and mainline rail stations at Blackfriars, Chancery Lane and Temple as well as tube services only from St Paul’s and Southward Stations.

Universities and Colleges

University and college options for those living in EC4 include the University of London, University of the Arts London, London Metropolitan University, International University of America, Global London College, City of London School, Shakespeare College London and the College of Emergency Medicine. Clearly these colleges attract numerous national and international students, meaning there is a buoyant rental market to keep EC4 letting agents busy.

Schools

Primary schools in the district include Canonbury Primary School, City of London School, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, St Alban’s Church of England Primary School, St Clement Danes CofE Primary School, Prior Weston Primary School & Children's Centre, St Paul’s Cathedral School and Queensbridge Primary School.

Secondary schools include CATS College London, Hackney New School, the Royal Ballet School, the London Nautical School, Stem Academy and Wapping High School.

Hospitals

Hospitals include the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, Blossoms Healthcare - City of London, Evelina London Children's Hospital, The Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Entertainment

There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to accommodate those living in EC4. Try Konditor and Cook or the Northbank Restaurant and Bar, High Timber for a combination of contemporary British cuisine and great views of the Thames. City Miyama caters for the more exotic taste with a mix of Japanese and European food. There are also several pubs sprinkled around the area. For example, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese and The Tipperary are just two popular venues for those who like to socialize. Anyone who likes the theatre has the Shakespeare Globe Theatre or the Rose Theatre to choose from. Bankside Gallery London is also worth a visit.

The EC4 area of London is home to some of the UK capital’s most splendid and historical architecture. The area covered by this postcode falls within the natural border of the River Thames and includes Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Cheapside, Fetter Lane, Mansion House, Temple and St Pauls. Some of the city’s most famous landmarks are to be found in the E4 area.

While the area’s architecture includes such magnificent buildings as St Paul’s Cathedral, there is also a good representation of residential properties including studio flats, splendid houses with attractive facades and a selection of new 1, 2 and 3 bedroom EC4 apartments for sale.

With EC4 property prices suitably aligned to the area’s splendour and prime location in the heart of the city of London, the property market here is thriving. EC4 estate agents process numerous enquiries about all types of properties on a daily basis – with clients constantly looking for studio flats, apartments and EC3 houses to rent and to buy.
