Introducing The Ragged House
Have you ever wished you can go back to school?
Well now you can, grab your pencil case, your ruler and your exercise book ……… Welcome to The Ragged House in Vine Hill, a Victorian building that originally was used as a school to educate children in the 19th Century. Ragged schools were charitable schools dedicated to the free education of destitute children.
This beautiful yellow brick building has now been converted to apartments and is launching on 19th September 2013. There is a mix of one and two bedroom apartments, all are packed full of original features but also have all mod cons and tons of built in storage. The specification is to a high standard but still hanging on to all the original feature’s throughout. The ground floor one bedroom apartment has a lovely little courtyard accessed from your living and kitchen/dining area and your master bedroom. Both two bedrooms have en suite shower rooms with slate floors – not for writing on though!
Vine Hill is a quiet street just off Clerkenwell Road, and is mix of commercial and residential properties. Cafes, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets are all within walking distance as well as Exmouth Market and Hatton Garden is just a stone’s throw away. Culture is covered with the wonderful Sadler’s Wells nearby – did you know that there has been a theatre there since 1683?
Clerkenwell is a hub of activity, no longer the destitute area of the 19th century, this location is as vibrant and sought after as Bloomsbury. Clerkenwell has been overlooked by buyers who have been seduced by the West End and City, but no longer! Farringdon Station is part of the Thameslink and Crossrail transport programme due to be finished in 2018 and this have brought renewed vigour and fun to the area.
Being able to walk to the City or the West End is so convenient and being able to buy in a conversion in London especially Clerkenwell is almost non-existent. The little development that is The Ragged House is perfect for those buyers who want to live in the hub of activity and want to still have a tranquil curriculum (did you see what I did there!)
