Art, Fashion & Fertility
Well, in the Commercial Division it looks like we are getting a reputation for acquisition and letting in the Art and Fashion world. We have just been instructed by White Cube Gallery to let their building in Hoxton Square following a move to their stunning new art gallery in Bermondsey.

The iconic building at 48 Hoxton Square (www.48hoxtonsquare.com) set the pace in this part of the capital revitalizing Shoreditch with it’s impressive glass extension to the original 1920’s structure, designed by Alexander Maybank. Although White Cube will not let to another gallery, the property would make a terrific headquarters for a company in the TMT sector (bearing in mind its proximity to ‘Silicon’ Roundabout’)or indeed for a serious but cutting edge fashion group. A real opportunity to get a foot in the door before the new Zahar Hadi designed development takes off on the East side of Hoxton Square.
On the fashion side and a little closer to our offices in Clerkenwell we acquired and completed a sale and leaseback for Agent Provocateur at their fabulous Clerkenwell Road headquarters and even further west, we acquired 5 Bloomsbury Square for Leicester Galleries run by art historian Peter Nahum, showing our commitment to culture in Midtown.
That is not to say that we are always unconventional in our approach, as can be seen by our letting of the 17,000 sq ft Waitrose Supermarket in Clerkenwell designed, no doubt, to feed the expected ‘babyboom’ in the area, following our letting of 16 St John Street to City Fertility Ltd!
